In the past 6 monts I have been gradually acquiring .45 and .44 molds.
First a New old stock Lyman 452374
Then a Saeco #420.
In the past 6 monts I have been gradually acquiring .45 and .44 molds.
First a New old stock Lyman 452374
Then a Saeco #420.
Then I propsed a slight design modification to the Accurate 45-195T. Tom was kind enough to accept the modification and the 45-185O ( the O for my son Owen, hopefully a future shooter and bullet caster but right now he is just a precocious 4 year old) was born. I now have an iron 3 cavity 45-185O awaiting its first casting session.
Then Christmas came along and Wifey bought me a Lee six cavity 45-230 TC.
Finally a two cavity Lee TL452-230-2R and a
RCBS 45-230-CM
Have joined the collection.
I got a new to me, 2 cavity Ideal 3118 yesterday. Today on my lunch break I cast up 63 sweet, 120 grain pills. After a proper heat up those little beauties just fell right out. The previous owner either rarely used it or treated it like it was gold plated. It is a very sweet mold. I have a Ruger SSM chomping at the bit to send those babies down range.
Just got a new to me lyman 452460, now just need some handles and see how she does, and test out my new pid from hatch.
