    257 Remington, not Roberts

In a trash can full of brass won at an auction for a deceased gunsmith, I found several new 257 REM stamped cases and also in all the reloading gear we won, there's was a set of dies. Anyone ever heard of this case? Looks to be a long action very similar to a 257 Bob but not quite.

My understanding is that in the early days it was the '257 Remington Roberts.' Perhaps this is some early brass?? Dunno....but I'm pretty sure that's all it could be.

Now I will wait patiently to be enlightened!

It is like the Rem-UMC headstamp here?

Ned Roberts died in 1949. They changed the name a bit later.
