Rifle not Carbine guys. I saw one at a local show that was nice! Crest intact and matching numbers only the bolt handle was bent down. Did any get made that way?

I have seen some bent like a military 98. they were still in the way of a scope. if it is bent to clear a scope then no it is not right.
If the bolt Handle number matches it's the original bolt. The cocking piece and bolt shroud could match but have a carbine bolt body. My opinion only- I've never owned a 91(yet). I sure want one!
Best, Thomas.
Dutchman, I have the monky wards model. I was surprised to see the crest intact, too I couldn't see any signs of heat on the bent bolt handle.
I have 2 of the "Monkey Wards" models plus a very nice M91 rifle and a M1909 rifle. They are excellent shooters. The middle rifle in photo is a M91 I converted to 35 Rem. The wire wrapped around the top M91 is attached to a strain gauge on the barrel for pressure testing.

if the bolt matches the rest of the rifle it can be straightened again.
I wish I had a tree that sprouted M91 mausers like the Dutchman's does!!!
91 Mausers are always a good choice if they are in good condition.

Made in 1893 by the ser#. Got it for $100 at the local gun shop already sporterized but with a carcano barrel some had fitted to it. Made a 44x1.8" barrel for it so it would be legal to use in the Limited Firearms Zone here in MI.
I personally think the 1891 rifle is THE most attractive military bolt rifle ever made.
