For some of us who started casting late, we dont know what it is to traditionally lube a bullet. If my molds throws close to bore diameter...I usually 45-45-10 for plinking loads. If I want to push them fast I alloy harder and powdercoat. Started looking for pretty...now I look for function. So Im less concerned about photo quality bullets. If they dont lead and shoot accurately and repeatably Im good.

The Australian shooters were powder coating 5-6 years before it got started in the states.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

PC is the key to using cast in semi auto guns as it won't plug up the gas ports. I've seen it used successfully in desert eagles and 30 m1 carbines. It takes a bit of trial and error I'm told, as I did my first batch yesterday. I will be using them in a coonan classic and a ruger 77/357. I will still tumble lube all of the other stuff for the ease and speed.
