Oh my, I just saw the 3 metal trash cans full. Even after qualifying done at Ft Polk, I didnt see that much empty brass. I just have a couple of shoe boxes with brass. Just wow. Great job. Keep that up for a few years and you could retire.

While you are waiting on good weather, you might start sorting the brass. Swap and sell what you don't use, make a few bucks towards some powder and primers.
My first impression was coffee cans too...till I realized I was looking at the trash cans in the rear. Pretty good haul so far.

IMPOSSIBLE you say?
no sir.
did you know rubber floats.
did you know the lead will jam together at the base of the deflector and can be cut out in large chunks?
if you can get the lead out even with large chunks of rubber in it you can separate the two by slowly pouring the mixture into a 15+% saltwater solution.
the crumb rubber will stay on top while the lead falls to the bottom.
pull the lead out and rinse it off.
pour the used solution on your neighbors ro err dilute it with more water and let it runn off.
End of the last melting session
current stash ~5000 pounds
33 buckets showed up Saturday for the next melt
Some of you guys seriously have some stashes!! I thought my OCD hoarding was bad!!!
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.
JIM...that's what I call a sexy picture, the 5K lb. one...look how nice the triangular ingots stack.

Holy heII y'all are awesome. I feel so at home here. How did you get so much lead? I can't even imagine getting that much lead. I would be happy to get half a 5 gallon bucket of range lead. What ingot mold did you use? Those are some nice stacking ingots.
I am sorting the brass as much as I can, it takes a LONG time to sort that much brass. Plus I'm taking in more brass than I can sort. That's why I'm building a sorter right now. I just got the chromoly tubing and am working on a design on autocad. I do want to sell a little of the calibers I don't shoot, but what if I get a firearm that takes that caliber one day? Then I won't have brass, lol.
By impossible to get lead from my range I meant they won't let me
mj- You should save all of the .32 ACP and .380 ACP. You should get a premium price over the most common 9MM and 40 S&W should you decide to sell or trade. .380 ACP is more difficult to discern from the 9MM. I have to set them opening up on a flat table and check for height with the .380 being a tad shorter than 9MM. The bonus to this method is that you can check the primer for Berdan primed brass. A magnet will find brass washed steel casings too which I have found several in 9MM. There might be a market in the .22 LR brass for the swagers. Some even load .25 auto.
Jim Flinchbaugh thats enough for 6-7 years of serious shooting with a 45. You better keep going.
Hope that's concrete under that load ! and I thought I was doing well with my 100 pounds !

The triangle ingots do stack really nice and it puts a LOT of weight in a small foot print.
the concrete is 10 inches thick, so far holding good
The triangle shaped stuff is all reclaimed indoor range lead and the Lyman mold ingots are COWW
left to me by a freind who moved away. I'd rather he still be here but such is life.
Those Homer buckets of range lead weigh on average about 130 pounds +,
I'm load testing the floor in that corner
WOW those are some super stashes!
It's really not that much concentrated weight. I'm going to guess that bench is about 8'x2', so that's 16ft^2. That's 2,304in^2. At 5000 pounds, that's only 2.17psi. To put that into perspective, let's say a car weighs 3000 pounds, all that weight is concentrated on the contact area of the 4 tires. Well say that's around .5ft^2 per tire, so 2ft^2 total contact area, that's 288in^2, that's around 10.42psi. You could easily add 4 times the amount of lead you have in that area and not worry about breaking the concrete below it. So that means if you really want to load test it, don't stop collecting

You have an addiction problem and are a 'Brassaholic' . The only cure is lack of storage space (never happens) or an angry wife who tells you "No more brass ! ! ! !" and means it. I only have 9 five gallon buckets of mined bullets in the garage.
Good luck with your addiction problem. Just because brass is free doesn't mean you need to pick it up.
I've got a 25'x75' storage space that I'm using to process the brass. Plus I'm single. So I'm good. Lol
