What's your range look like, show us a photo.

There is a very nice land owner across town whom I am helping build a range who does not reload, but, shoots 45. His mid 20's grandson has expressed an interest in learning to reload, but he only has his grandfathers 45 and a 7.62X54 Russian made rifle. It's been fun assembling a range then shooting there. It is a farm pond with a berm on one side. We can shoot from a nice grassy area down into the pond and cross to the berm. Attachment 191621 Attachment 191622 Attachment 191623 I've included a photo of our bench. Since this photo was taken we've added a shelf underneath. 15 yards shown here however if we back up on the grass it can be a 50 yard. The white spot is our target with dirt inside to stop the bullets. We are constructing a 4 target steel, self resetting target.

Have a longer range at the farm with a natural berm an a bench and shade we built.

Here at the house I just have a steel backstop but more reactive targets on my 100 yard range.

No pictures but mine looks like a 100 yard path cut through the woods, ending in the side of a ridge. When we were ranching/raising beef I had a couple different 500+ yard ranges across pastures. Sure miss those days.

Mine started out with rail road ties stacked and backed up with dirt until they rotted and were shot away, Then I got these aircraft tires and filled them with sand and placed a PVC type pallet on the front as seen in the picture. Since I have made it taller and wider added some steel targets. When I shoot out the PVC pallets for the second time I think I will break it down mine the lead out. This time when I put it back up I will add some post to help keep it standing without a lean that seems to show up now and then so I wound have to push it back plum. Its nice having a place to shoot in the yard for testing loads matter of fact I shot most of this afternoon and did not forget anything at home since I never left lol.

The pistol club that use to shoot on my farm, till we ran afoul of planning and zoning built these bermed ranges. First picture the range on the right allows 125yd. The rest are 25yd. There is a 300yd range on the right of the other 2 pictures. The bullet has to cross the creek twice enroute to the berm. One of the reasons I wanted a place out in the country.

Picture of the range that I work at (after closing hours). We setup balloon displays that we had on the sales floor.

This is one of our areas. Great for handguns out to 75 yards not so much for long range.
Sometimes it takes a second box of boolits to clear my head.

My wife was the driving force behind getting this built for me.
We have rail road ties planted in a semi circle, then more ties stacked up to build a wall 2 deep and offset. Then we have clay packed in about 6' high x 8' deep. There are 2 swinging steel plates hanging from chains.
I have a bench built under the porch of the shop that is 75 yards away.

It would be hard to get a picture of this range. It is the best around, on a private ranch. Distances run from 10 yards, to 960 yards. Also a separate action pistol course, and a .22/muzzleloader trailwalk, that takes nearly eight hours to complete! There is also a BPCR trailwalk that takes several hours to complete. The ranch owner is a Marine, and we call that one the Death March, as it is up and down the mountains, shooting at unknown distances.
Shooting by invitation only, and you better be ready to burn powder when you get there!

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

The walk is under a mile, but there are a lot of targets. Water stations are along the trail, and there is a campsite midway to cook up some food. That stop also gives an opportunity to refill powder horns, ball bags, and patches.

My Local sportsman club (5 miles south of Glencoe).

    100 yd bench

mobile bench at about 25 yd (it's normally at 50 yd)

The alley down to the 200 yd berm

the 200 yd berm...it wasn't finished when these photo's were taken in 2009...I think we finished it in 2010...yeah, it took a while, mostly difficult getting volunteers out there.
