You can use the Lee universal expanding die. It will do just about any caliber. I have one and it works quite well.

Get the NOE neck expanders that work with the LEE Universal Expander. You'll be pleased. Pick which one you need.

Comparing the Lee to the Lyman is comparing apples to pineapples.

The Lee is a flaring tool. The Lymn M die is an expanding tool.

Get a lee universal expanding die and an NOE expanding plug to go inside. NOE has both of them.

Yes, the Lyman M-die/expander that came with the die set will work with .358 bullets. It will flare the case mouth (just as the Lee does) and expand the inside for .355 - .356 bullets. Thus you're putting a bullet in that is .002 over what is intended. If the bullet is too soft it may get sized down is all. I seat .357 sized cast in 9mms using the standard expanders that come in all 3 of my 9mm dies sets; RCBS, Lee and Dillon SDB. I've also seated cast sized to .360. I get a "coke bottle" effect and suspect you will too. No problems though.

You will need the Lee die body which is round $10 to 15

I use Lyman m-dies (well, their multi-expander actually, but the plugs are the same) and size all my 9mm boolits to .358", no problem. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/74...der-charge-die
This set-up works very well with my RCBS turret press and Redding powder measure.
I also have a bunch of NOE plugs of various sizes, and the Lee Universal Expander. Etc. etc.

These have replaced my Lyman M dies. So many alternatives.

I use the powder through expander die for the 38 S&W, works like a charm !

    https://www.midwayusa.com/product/20...set-38-s-and-w

I think you can locate just the case mouth expander at Titan Reloading (top of page).
Not to mention that since I recently moved my reloading of 9mm's to my LEE Load-Master it makes things go a lot smoother.
No more cases squeezing my boolits down !

That is a great idea, and they're only $3!! Can anyone tell me what the outside diameter of this expander is? Thanks!

I will say the M die did shoot a tighter group I did adjust the M die to seat a tad deeper and it work out great.
I went with stage 1 Lee resizing die
    Stage 2 M die
Stage 3 Lee powder expander die set up just enough to activate the powder drop
    Stage 4 lee seating die
    I drop 3.6 grains of Bullseye with a 122 gr. F.P. bullet
Group size at 12 yards two hand hold unsupported well under 1 1/2"
    Ruger SR9
the fired case had no blow by at all clean as a whistle
I think I am going to order another M die for my 1911

Is there a thread that discusses the NOE expander plugs? I've got a couple of M dies but I can't say I've used them enough to be familiar and only on .30 cal. rifle.

What do I need to get in order to use the NOE plugs?

A Lee universal expander. The NOE plugs drop right in that die. They work wonderfully and are reasonably priced.
