    Would This be Worth it?

I've been eyeballing another front stuffer a lot like the last one I picked up. This time it's a Navy Arms .58 caliber 1863 Springfield replica for three hundred. It's in nice shape with real nice bluing and the stock appears to be walnut and is also in good shape. I've researched that model on line and that price is around the bottom of what they are asking and selling for. I don't really need it but it would be a real cool addition to my collection. I don't think the seller will go any lower and the asking price is about all I can afford right now.
Not going to be doing any CW re-enacting so it's going to be a closet queen with a few trips to the range.
Any thought on pulling the trigger on this one?

as you say, that's at the lower end of what they usually sell for but, only you can decide if it's worth it or not with yer intended purposes in mind.

For me the question would be - What other uses do I have for the $300?

I'd look at what I wanted for and decide from their,it might be worth it to you even if it's not worth it to others here. I kinda lean to BP Jones's post.but I'm over loaded with Black Powder arms anyway.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left.

if it that good and that cheap. buy it play with it. if you don't like it you have room to make some money. an investment you can play with. a win win.

Agreed. If the gun is nice you should have no problem moving it for more than you paid if you decided not to keep it.

If it's worth it to you, it's worth it. Worth is in the eye of the beholder.

Thanks all, I'm leaning toward getting it. I'll have to wait two or three weeks, going out of town and won't have time to pick it up and sneak it into the house past the wife till we get back. Hope it still will be there when I go for it, if not it wasn't supposed to be.

It's like the old Chevy Commercial for about 15 years ago said, "It's not a matter of need, It's a matter of want".

I had enough guns to satisfy my needs 50+ years ago. Somehow they've been multiplying at a rate of at least one a year...
