    300 BO brass

As I worked on converting some .223 brass, I can't remember reading about annealing the necks prior to reloading. Any ideas?

It's probably worth annealing the brass but I believe most people who make 300BLK brass don't anneal.

Yes, you would want to anneal them.

Yes, I anneal prior to sizing.

For the money ($275.00), the Annealeze annealing machine makes fast work of annealing the necks of 300 BO or any other necked rifle brass.

Much cheaper than any of the other options out there.

Interesting, I wonder what is going to happen when the guy who patented that type of machine enforces his patent? I have one of these and it works fantastic: http://www.giraudtool.com/annealer1.htm

I have made about 900 cases of 300 BO brass from LC08 and RP brass. They have been loaded and fired at least 5 times. I did not anneal them when they were converted. I may anneal soon. I have lost zero to split or cracked necks.

The interesting thing is that a person has only to change 10% of something to get his own " new " product and/or patent.

That's folklore. The real test is when it goes to trial, you get to convince the jury that your invention is the same as the one in question. The jury goes by sight and reading the letters patent. Since juries are lay people, no one wants to take the chance and settles. If you are the person infringing, and you lose, you pay 10x the profit realized on every article produced. I'm going through the process of filing a patent which is how I know all this. If it was so easy to evade patent protection, no one would bother to file one.

Sevral types of patents, US patents are almost usless now. Big bucks to fight an infringement case.
    Whatever!
