I have a Howa 1500 in .270 and a couple Vanguards. Very much like them all. Smooth and accurate. My Vanguard .223 is devastating on ground hogs with Winchester 45 grain hollow points.
Can't have too many Howa's and their brethren.

Excellent quality and probably the best bang for the buck you'll find.
Nice acquisition glockky. Keep us posted in how she does. My first rifle IS a Howa 1500 chambered in 22-250 Remington. Still have it and I shoot it regularly. I will change the stock to a Boyds Thumbhole, and add a new Jewel trigger, that's it. I also have a Weatherby Vanguard (same action/barrel as Howa) in 25-06 and is a great shooter. Enjoy the new girl!

I built a rifle using the same barreled action (.308 heavy barrel) in an Axiom Aluminum stock. I did replace the trigger with an adjustable Timney. It is a very accurate rifle, sub MOA with 168gr SMK and RL-15 powder. Shoots a lot better than I can.
I have a Howa 1500 Sporter in .204 Ruger.
It wears the Hogue over-molded stock.
Mine came with a Nikon-Sterling scope that is acceptable for the caliber, but nothing special.
What is special is the action and trigger.
Love that gun.
Still waiting to wack a coyote with it.
Every time I take it into the field, the 'yotes disappear.
I think they know I have it...
I have an old 3006 Smith and Wesson 1500 made by Howa has killed everything I shot it at. 180 grain Noslers has killed a truckload of deer and 6 elk..A 130 grain Speer hollow point with 4350 powder at 3000 ft per second and that is my coyote gun.The 130 grainer is not I repeat not fur friendly. With the 130 grain that was the lightest bullet I could get to group well. It shot well enough that I decided I didnt need a 2506 or 22 250.The 130 doese better in the cross winds I have to shoot in than the lighter calibers.
I got one of the featherweight mini actions in 6.5 Grendel a while back and the removable mag spring is straight garbage. Fails to feed most times unless you give it a tap. Almost want to swap for the factory bottom metal
