    What the heck is this??

Took delivery of an RCBS A2 Press and this was screwed into the threaded insert for the die. Looks like a plumbing part to me?? It's cast brass with an unthreaded ID.

That is one of the rare and vintage wehaveabsolutelynoideawahtitis, so it must go with the press.

    Other than that, no idea.

It is a petcock for an old flintlock so you close it off (at the muzzle), fire the gun. and walk around with the pressure stored up for when you want to use it. Simply unscrew it while you point at the target and zoom. Out goes the roundball. Or maybe not.

You don't see a reference to a pitot tube very often....good show.

Heck, I haven't seen a pitot tube ever since they started making solid state pitot circuits.

    It's a Dixon F x F gas fitting I believe.

ETA: Make that Male x Male. Thank god they changed the rules so now I don't have to worry which bathroom I can use.

The press owner was just using it for a handle. It served no reloading purpose.
He might have hung it from a rack or the ceiling to get the press out of the way.

You guys know as well as I do that fitting made one of the first semi progressive presses possible. You simply screwed it into the press and then screwed another press onto the top to get two stations at once. Likely it came from an estate sale and whoever cleaned off the guys work bench figured that piece got screwed in there since it was in the vicinity.
