Really big 500 S&W mold, Leupold handgun scope, S&W N frame grip

Some odds and ends to cover the cost of a new optic for another purchase:

Leupold M8 4X Handgun scope- this is the extended eye relief version. The scope is in great shape; the rings will be included but the screws in the rings are fairly stripped, so consider them a freebie (the actual mounting bases and those screws are perfectly serviceable however). The M8 scopes are the precursors of the FX series that you see today.

    Accurate 500-710W Bullet mold

This is a single cav Accurate made aluminum mold. It looks great and casts great. Bullet dropped weighs about 730 grains in my wheel weight mystery metal. It has been used only a handful of times and definitely allowed me to find the point where I decided I had enough recoil. I specced it at 502 when I ordered it. It dropped at 5025 in my same mix. These shoot well enough in my 8 3/8" 500 (at least as long as I can tolerate it) although they impact very high (big surprise). They did not stabilize with my loads in my 4" 500, so be forewarned if you have a short barrel. However if you are planning to shoot many of these out of a short barrel 500 I suggest you commit yourself to a mental health ward! I am going to stick to my tiny 440s, 400s, and 375s...

(Pictured next to a piece of 357 brass for scale)

I paid $85 shipped, you pay $68 shipped. Spf

    One last try at these:

N frame round butt Miculek grips in good shape, used. Very nice grips but I replaced them with Badgers.

    $45 shipped

Paypal preferred. I don't really need any trades, feel free to try me but I'm trying to halt the accumulation of stuff I don't need!

Thank you for saving me from this one. I seriously considering buying it, but my wrists are thankful I was too late

Just a quick side story about the S&W 500, I think it was Hickock45 on Youtube as he was loading his 500.
"I'm putting a single cartridge in the cylinder. Nobody really knows what these other four holes are for."

Tom will still cut you one!

I think it might be better to think of it as an ingot mold that you can use as a bullet. As I told maxreloader I cast one last batch before boxing her up, and I could feel the pain in my hand again whenever I looked at the things! Truly a metal monster of a boolit.

Bwbrown, the 500 can be a mean gun, but it flat out shoots. For a non-performance Center gun it's very well made and accurate, and the trigger is better than most of my pre-locks. If you just load it with light loads, she's a real sweet shooter. With the padded xframe grips, most factory loads feel about like a stout 44.
