My PID Build thanks Cast Bootlits!

Hi folks this is my first post here, just wanted to give back to this site. Without seeing all the smart guys here I wouldn’t have got my pid made. Built that 2 years ago, works great in the lead pot and also works for the heated base on my star. The other thing I did to the pot was to modify the meter rod for the flow, I was tired of using a screw driver to adjust lead flow and sometimes when it dripped moved it back and forth to stop dripping. Got a 1/4-20 threaded connector screwed that on, then a wing nut and a screw. Made sure the screw was long and screwed thru the wing nut and started cutting the screw down till it bottomed out on the rod and locked down the wing nut. That made things a lot nicer when casting, could adjust the flow on the fly as the lead level went down and fix the drips. Got all the parts from Auber

I did something similar for both my lee 4-20 and old pro-melt. I also run the mold hotplate off a pid (built two PID in a box, one for the pot). I like your exhaust system! I should implement your meter rod mod for the lee as mine does dither a bit. thanks

Good idea using the time clock box. Looks like a Torx?

You are correct it’s a Tork box, I’m over overwhelmed with the talent on this forum. But sometimes small ideas work also

Harry, very nice work. Glad you did it, right?

Auber might be more $$$'s but their products work and you can call them for help, if needed.

Really like the wing nut setup! It all looks like good work.
