Will gas checks self seat and size

Well not used to gas checks I prefer to paper patch.
    But I've been thinking!!!!

I can lightly seat alu gc on the base of my boolit with out sizing.
After being finger lubed they sit into the tip of the case mouth of unsized cases.
I have to chafer the mouth and maybe flare a bees willy to get the gas check to seat about half way up.
The round when chambered and breach seats itself like the 308403 Pope bullet.

Haven't shot them yet but was wondering if anyone has tried this approach out or not.

I mean the gascheck size and grip on the shank on the way through the throat.

Iv'e only loaded 50 low velocity stuff first to try it out.

Can always size if needed but was just wondering if any one had been there and how it worked out for them.

I suppose its the next great idea people have after having to do all that work prepping cases and bullets.

    Cheers

I was reading your post when I got to the part about " flare a bee's willy" could you show a photo of a bee's willy ? I didn't know a bee had a willy! I have bee's in a tree in my yard but I'm not about to go looking at their willies , just mowing around their bee hole gets them agitated enough.

I went out to my shed and found a couple of mics thou so that will have to do 'yu.

Have another around hear that measures "poofteenths" which are about five eights of S.F.A.

Well it didn't work out too good.
    But not completely a failure.
Average group for different powder charges.
May try again. The flyer's were most likely loose gaschecks I think.
50 yrds and some light bulleye loads.

Some 308241 at 50 yds bottom ones just re greasing up the barrel and settling in then a nice little group of 8 I think. 15 in all.

So the gun will do it if I do my part with something it likes.
