    Smash testing PC boolits

Quick question, do you smash test a coated boolit from every batch ?

So far I have and just wondering if it is necessary,or am I being over cautious.

I've cut back on smash testing PC boolits after having enough good results. It never hurts to be careful though.

I don't smash test...never have as I don't really know what is was supposed to prove.

It is not like it simulates anything the bullet does.

I've smash tested mine against a piece of steel at about 40 yards. Leaves a nice coat of PC the diameter of the meplat.

While the former is true, I've never tested the cure on my bullet's PC. I'm pretty confident in Smokes powder and my oven. After a few hundred down multiple barrels and seeing the results, I highly doubt I ever will.

Smash tested the very first PC batch and have never needed to do it again. Smoke's powders WORK.

I always find a flawed bullet or two that skip by my initial inspection prior to coating. So they are perfect candidates for smash testing. No waste, they were going back to the pot anyway.

Never done a smash test using a hammer but many onto a gong. PC still stuck on the fragments, good enough for me. Another happy user of powder from Smoke.

Thanks, I 've gotten to the point where I trust smoke's powders and my methods and like Fred I will test a reject when I inspect boolits after coating.
