When will the first new shipments of foreign milsurps to arrive?

    Gents,

With the new administration in Washington -- signaling the end of the draconian Obama-induced ban on importation of milsurp firearms -- I would have expected to see a fresh flood of foreign milsurp rifles and handguns on the used-gun market by now. But, that flood hasn't materialized.

What's your best guess as to when we'll see a fresh of crop of imports hit the milsurp market?

I'm getting impatient waiting for more affordable toys, such as the Nagant revolvers, the Polish P-64's, the Tokarev's, Walther P1's, Austrian Model 95 Mannlichers, VZ 24's, Moisin-Nagant 7.62x54R's, Swiss Rubin's, etc.

Anybody have any "insider knowledge" on when the fresh imports will arrive?

    Lemme know what ya think.

    Happy trails,

    -- Cary Gunn --

My guess is that the supply of milsurps has just about dried up at the source and that the next wave of milsurps will be the Garands and carbines warehoused in S Korea.

    Just guessing here.

Lot's of Milsurp in friendly and unfriendly countries overseas. We need the Trump Administration to take action to remove the Import Restrictions from the Bush and Obama eras. We need the US State Department to get out of the business of restricting Guns and Ammo, and the business of ITAR which should have no play inside of the US. And, we need a strong stance in the UN against the Liberal/Progressive /Socialist/Communist influences that are attempting to curtail "SMALL ARMS" trade between Nations - they always exempt the countries and go after the private citizens in these constraints.

Most all the imports of the last 17 years have been coming through the Ukraine. Right now they need the weapons and ammo that we were getting dirt cheap. Russia still has hundreds of thousands of C&R guns sitting in caves. But they can not import them directly to us. So what they do is send them to one of the satellite countries and they have to sit there for I think it was 5 years before it is considered that countries property and then it can be imported to us.

Thank Bush #1, Clinton, Obama for these stupid rules!

Perhaps you can convince the Iranians and the Pakistanis to return the Garands we gave them...Or the Communist Vietnamese after they seized the stocks we gave South Vietnam...

I want destroyer carbines to start coming to the states again. Maybe some more Russian Nagant revolvers. French MAS possibly? The list goes on!
Give them a little time, I'm sure he will get it done.

    Cary Gunn,

Have you expressed your request to your U.S. House and Senate Representatives? In a Republic, that is the first step.

We have some good lawyers here. Maybe someone could draw up a petition so people could sign and send to government representatives. THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE!

Don't hold your breath, that bit of de-regulating is way down on the list of "things to do" and don't be surprised when some of our elected "gun friendly" congressmen and senators do a quick 2 step to side track any such legislation introduced. The Washington "insiders"( both D's and R's) don't want this type of legislation any more than Obama, they are part of the problem along with the "internatinalists" and "UN one world government supporters". We don't need to just clear the "swamp", we need to chlorine it. my take anyway, james

No that only implemented a $200 tax and review of the person to make sure they were Government approved under the 1934 act. During that period the average wage was $1600.00 annually; $30 a week. Seven weeks of an entire average salary to pay the Tax; yep government way of banning the average citizen from having something without actually passing a ban.

Additional restrictions on registering passed along with 1968 Gun Control act impacted private ownership further. Final nail in coffin from the Fed's came in 1986 when congress banned the possession & transfer of machine-guns (new) except those manufactured prior to May 1986. Once again through legislation removing access from the average US Citizen through taxation and exorbitant coat; a Full Auto can go for several 10's of thousands of $$ to hundreds of thousands of $$$ now due to this 1986 Legislation.

Yeah, or the thousands of M1903 Springfields (sent over and never used as they were too large for the soldiers) and M1 Carbines and Garands we left over there and my old M1911A1 and my Model 15 S & W and my arsenal reconditioned M97 Riot Gun that I had to leave behind as they were US made. Makes me cry to think about it./beagle

Trump is supported by the NRA. Most US firearms manufacturers support the NRA. NRA will probably not be behind any bill to allow cheap foreign milsurp guns into the US. Probably same for Trump.
