I'm replacing a Colt cylinder Assembly, ratchet & hand. Could any one point me in the right direction to a in depth book with details covering the timing of these replacement parts?

I've never used them, but a lot of people seem to like Jerry Kuhnhausen's books.

There's a shop manual by Jerry Kuhnhausen on Single Action Army Revolvers, carried by Brownell's and probably Midway USA. There isn't much it doesn't cover.
Yep, good books for both single and double action revolvers.
Colt what?
Kuhnhausen has three books on Colt revolvers including the SAA, the older DA guns like the Official Police, New Service, Python, etc and another volume (Volume II) for the later DA revolvers like the Trooper, King Cobra, etc.
All three books are good, but will sometimes have you scratching your head. Timing the earlier DA guns can be a little tricky.
All three books can be found at Brownells, usually cheaper than Amazon.
