4337 in a 357 carbine w Lee 358 158?

Thinking of loading 4337, maybe 14 grains, in a 357 with standard pistl primer and Lee 358 158 no gas check bullet with water quenched wheel weight alloy. Wondering velocity from 16" trapper barrel and wheter or not Ill get leading. Anyone use this bullet and ppowder in a 357 carbine? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Craig.

IMO leading has more to do with bullet size, fit, less with speed. But after you go over that 1400 fps mark without a gas check you will probably get some. But, for hunting, firing 5 to zero and 1-3 at a deer, I don't think you would get enough to be worth worrying about.

I tried a few of IMR 4227 in my .357 mag handi rifle. Louder, faster, not as accurate as my 4.6 grains of Red Dot load behind that bullet. I think I loaded 12 grains. They were all in a nice coffee cup 2" group at 100 yards but the Red Dot load stacks them.

If it were me I would slow down to mid 1300's or switch to a gas check bullet if you want to keep the speed. Keep bullet at least 2 thousandths bigger than groove, and use a known good lube.
