which bullet design is most likely to feed properly

I know there are a lot of other variables, this will be for a Kimber eclipse in 10mm, noe offers a mold that's 180gn in either a flat nose or a round nose configuration, honestly id prefer the flat nose just because I've always had good luck, but ball dimensions seem to always work when all else fails, my instincts tell me a round nose would be better. However id prefer to ask before I drop the coin to buy a mold that may cause issues. I have interest in their 200gn wfn mold but they aren't currently stocked for any of the heavier .40X sized bullets in any rg series mold. What does everyone think? or do you need more information? I think the flat nose would be nice because alloy dependent I may be able to get some expansion from it which would be neat to play with just to see if its possible.

Maybe the easy thing to do would be to buy or borrow a handful of flat points from another shooter before investing in a mold.

I'd assume the flat nose should work in any 40 S&W or 10MM. The Lyman #48 manual I have saved on my computer doesn't have load data for a single round nose bullet in either round. I'm not sure if newer manuals have data for RN bullets. The hollow point or truncated cone is kind of the typical profile used.

I considered ordering that NOE mold but didn't due to the fact that most 10MM load data, gun magazines and chambers would be designed for a flat profile.

The WFN is supposed to work well in most 10mm pistols. I've got my eye on the Arsenal 200 GR Keith SWC. I really want that mold. They also have a 200 gr TC that looks good.

I already have a tc mold too. I really wish someone would make a heavy hollow point mold. That's what I've been after since I got in my 10mm kick. One day soon hopefully

I have the Lee standard lube groove Truncated Cone in 9mm, 40/10mm and 45. They feed in pistols that nothing else will. If you can't get a TC to feed either you are making bad ammo or something is seriously wrong with your pistol.

I do have the Lee 401-175tc that I modified to have a flat base and drops at about 180gn +/- .2gn. It's actually and extremely nice mold now that I messed with it. But I'm really looking for something hollow point to experiment with. Just shooting plain bullets is getting boring. I'd like to have a challenge. Maybe I'll try my hand at making this a Cramer (the pins mp uses) mold.

Round nose flat points are more round nose than flat point (). I don't think anything will hang up during feeding, no shoulders or sharp corners...

As a general rule, a RN will feed more reliably. The 10mm was designed around a TC bullet though, so they tend to feed fine in my 3 diff 10mm. I favor 200gr bullets in the 10mm & went with an Accurate mold that throws a 195gr RNFP with a pretty big meplat. Feeds in my Glock, Delta & 1006.

Fredj338. That's a nice looking bullet. About how big is that meplat? I think the Lee mold will be fine but I'm itching to try different things. Well after I actually shoot the gun that is.

Mihec has a great looking 40/10mm HP mold. Someone sent me a bunch of them a couple of years ago, still in the box, just haven't had the time lol, guess I could clean the lube off and powder coat them.

Yeah I saw his. I think it's only something like 160gn in hp. I was lookin for something closer to 180gn in hp
