Recenty purchased a Win/Miroku 1873 in 357. I never had more trouble fitting a bullet to particular gun than this one.Diameter was not the problem length was the problem, really wanted to use 180 gr. bullets but all were to long.Bought a 158gr RCBS RNFP mold cast a bunch of bullets with Lyman #2 alloy.I do like RCBS molds on sale for $66.00.
I loaded up 80 round with 4 different powders all starting loads,2400,Blue Dot,Tite Group and IMR 4227,lubed with Ben's Red.As expected the 2400 shot the best with the IMR 4227 being a close second for accuracy.I could feel lube on the fired cases when extracted.I was very pleasantly surprised with not a speck of lead anywhere and 4 solvent soaked patches and the bore was pristine.I intentionally tried to get the barrel warm and see if I could lead it up a little, didn't happen,I shot all 80 rounds in less than a hour. When I made the lube I followed the directions to a tee and very pleased with results.
Thanks Ben for your creative efforts.
