Old ammo and powder given to me

    Sorry about pic quality -

Someone gave me a box of very old stuff, including a full box of 38-40 ammo ($2.15 way back when), and a half full tin full of Hodgdon's 4895 Rifle Powder. It's kind of neat thinking about how things were back then in "the god 'ol days". But then again, they say that we will look back years from now and think of these asthe good 'ol days

Gosh, I remember the shelves in Western Auto having these same items...kinda dates me!

As far as looking back and thinking of today as being the 'good ole days'?...things are going to have to get pretty bad in the future for that.

I have an oval shaped steel black powder one pound can with paper label that is over 100 years old. the powder seems to be fine.
