    311291 or RCBS 30-180-FP

I have a Krag sporter with a Smith Corona 03/A3 4 groove barrel.

A pound cast was quite satisfying and it shows a nice .300 bore and .308 groove diameter.

The throat is much shorter than your standard Krag. I doubt the 311284 would chamber.

My goal is to use it for targets at 100-200 yards. Velocities of 16-1800 or so with gas check boolits run through a Lyman 45. Feeding through the magazine would be nice but not essential. It will never hunt unless a groundhog exposes himself at the right time.

Both of the boolits mentioned would be good candidates, but which mold to buy first?

NOE has a couple 'pointy' bullets that might work better in the wind, also 311332 might work. I would pick the RCBS 180-FN over 311291 just because. I have the RCBS 180 FN in an NOE clone but I use it for the 30-30 and 303 Savage with the 311332 my preferred 30 for the 308 and 300 Savage. I have had good results with 311413 but others do not.

If you'd like to try some 311299s, I could send some your way to see if they would work.

I'm currently just over the border in Windom at a conference. My wife says we got around a foot in Britt.

I've had both for a long time; I prefer the RCBS.

I'd go with the RCBS too
