    old leather revolver holster

    I purchased a model 49 COLT 31 cal. revolver in a very old flower patterned tooled leather holster. on the rear it is MKD. FINKS LEATHER SHOP. 225. HP. I be-leave it is hard to make out all of the stamping. any one ever heard of this leather holster manufacturer? it is very old. any and all info. would be appreciated.

    I'll see if my copy of "Packing Iron" has any reference to Finks Leather Shop.

    FINK (Fink Leather Shops, Kansas City, Missouri)

    they made U.S. holsters in WW2.

    Well, you Google Foo must be real weak. I did the Google when you first posted the topic and found many references to Fink Leather Shops. I didn't post the results, because I refuse to do folks research for them.

    It appears Fink Leather Shop is too new to be found in Richard Rattenbury's Packing Iron, which covers mostly 1800's gun leather. But it appears that Fink not only made leather for WWII military use, but also WWI use.

    I GOOGLED it again and holsters for sale came up, even one made in WW2, soled for $49.99. but nothing on the history of the Co. when they started in business and ended.
