So this would be a Model 43 Airweight am I right?
    Yes. A model 43 Airweight

    Very interesting.

I cleaned up a friends H&R 999 - he left it in a wet holster in his truck!!! When I test fired it I discovered the hammer spring was missing the washer so it missfired a lot. Fixed it. Turned out to be more accurate than my K22 or my Single Six with 22 mag ammo.

Come to think of it, he hasn't test fired it since I returned it to him over a year ago!!!

'Spose that spring is gonna get weak again, just sittin' there?

Not fired it since you got it back to him?? Even after the fix? I'd say it's time to make him an offer. They are nice guns, or at least I like mine.

I have owned a few .22 LR pistols over the years. I have thinned the herd of them down to 3 that are very accurate. An old Ruger XR3 Red frame 6 1/2" Single Six, a S&W Model 17 with 6" barrel and finally a Browning Buckmark Target model. I got the first 2 second handed for 1 reason or another.Robert

The older K-22's are outstanding. Sure wish I'd kept mine.

When guns are outlawed only criminals and the government will have them and at that time I will see very little difference in either!

I never seen a 999 22 mg. I would want to buy that one myself, must be a limited edition.

They had convertibles in 22WMR and LR. I have a 949 SA/DA and its very accurate.
