    Mold Addiction

Has anyone else here talked friends into buying a new rifle or pistol in odd caliber's just to have a excuse to buy a new mold. I've almost got more molds in caliber's I don't own than what I shoot. I may be a little bit of a Rat B@#$#@d, but is getting them to fork over the $ to buy the new NOE mold for their new gun wrong.

Do not take orally, or internally - addicting!
We need somebody/something to keep the government (cops and bureaucrats too) HONEST (by non government oversight).

Every "freedom" (latitude) given to government is a loophole in the rule of law. Every loophole in the rule of law is another hole in our freedom. When they even obey the law that is. Too often government seems to feel itself above the law.

We forgot to take out the trash in 2012, but 2016 was a charm! YESSS!

I started with a Lee 20 lbs pot and a few RCBS 2 cavity molds. I stopped casting because lead bullets were so cheap it did not make sense.
A few years ago, it dawned on me that I had all the equipment , I should start again and then I found this website that introduce to NOE, Miha and Accurate.
Before I knew it, I was in the $1K club at NOE.
Last total was about 85 molds.

Hello I have an addiction; it started innocently enough with a lee pot and lee 2 cavity mold to make shooting idpa more cost effective after my daughter was born, spent today barely 13 years later building my ultimate reloading beach and shelving for my molds and dies, found a whole milk crate full of molds I didn't even know I had or needed, lots of duplicates of ones I already have my Meha shopping cart currently has 4 more molds I'll order after taxes, one for a rifle I don't own yet; but just think of all the money I've saved!

Wow, how they grow. Now which ones do I send Erik to hollowpoint?

I have bought Hensley & Gibbs moulds that I don't have a gun for. They were a good deal and in great shape, and I bought them. I traded a bunch of cast bullets for 44 special brass. Now I need to find a 44 special gun. Does that count?

I'm not part of this club. I'm not buying molds or guns in calibers/cartridges I don't already own. Main reason I haven't bought a 45/70. Getting set up to cast for a new caliber gets expensive when molds and sizing dies are involved. Last one I did this for was a 375 H&H. Have absolutely no need for that rifle but spent hundreds on casting equipment for it. I refuse to do this again.

I recently crossed that line as well, purchased a Miha 9mm Mould and I don't even own a damn 9mm. Or, I should say I DIDNT at that time
Staring at the powder aisle at cabelas the other day and old dude walks up and mentions that I have the "sickness" too. I said yeah, one of these days I'll start "saving money" by reloading. He just laughed.

    its an illness.

It must be a sickness, I don't think there is a cure. The other half said she counted 28 molds (she hasn't found the ones that came in the last week or two.) She thinks I've got enough. All I can say is I need another mold. She wants to know what I'm going to build with all those silver bricks. She says they seem to be mating as there is more of them every so often.

I've just gotten started on boolit molds.

I am in Michigan and Al send me a email telling me I am in the 1000$ club (I did not even know what he was talking about at first). I had to celebrate by purchasing another mould.

it's not an addiction. You are storing your molds to close to each other. They are reproducing. I was storing them in a big ammo can and there is almost 100 by now
