I snagged a SC Lyman 452488 on evilbay this week. It arrived today. Man what a nice looking .45 ACP boolit. Good thing I also snagged a DC last night. I really love the look of this little guy and plan to shoot a lot of them. Now if I could just find a 452486! That's a nice looking boolit too. 452389 looks pretty good too. Gotta find a 452460 165 gr to go along with my 200 gr.
I think I'm sick. I want them all!

#452488 makes a very accurate .45 ACP bullet, but I've never had success getting it to feed with 100% reliability through an unmodified 1911-type gun.
My Dad shot Bullseye pistol competition for years and was pretty darn good at it racking up a bunch of trophies in S.C. back in the 70s and 80s. The 452488 was his favorite bullet in the .45 ACP and I have his mold around here somewhere.
I used to shoot a lot of these in .45 Colt revolvers, very accurate, nice to cast little bullet. I do think most 1911s require some throating and polishing to work 100% with it though.
A shooting buddy uses this boolit in his Glock 30. Nary a bobble. Feeds, ejects, and cases don't hang up on the next cartridge in the magazine.
