    Alliant 2400 at LGS

Small gun shop, was picking up a Gun Genie purchase from Davidsons. They had 6 Lbs of 2400 on the shelf at $29.00 per LB. I can't find it anywhere. Is this a decent price, or should I wait. I broke into my last LB. last week.

that sure seems high at this point in the game. recobs has it for around $20/lb and less than that if you want larger amounts.

I would buy it . At least a pound or two.If you use a lot of it buy it all. If you run out price won't matter. You may have to drive 1/2 way across the country to buy more. Gas is expensive.

Just break the price difference down to a cost per round. You'll not feel as bad about it that way!

If you bought that 6 lbs, and only 6 lbs, online the Haz-mat fee and shipping would be around $7 a lb. Look at it that way, and $29 a lb doesn't look so bad. I'd rather have some $29 powder than no $22 powder.

I would like to go into a store and even see some.

I'm not very good at the internet mail order "in stock" waiting game.

It's much cheaper at the shops that don't have any.

If you need it and can afford it, own it.

I am better at that than the local gunshop "in stock" waiting game...as I have not seen 2400 in stock locally in more than 3yrs.

Yup! I'm betting some will show up. Most of the other powders have and I am not hurting. I have most of an 8LB.

I am sitting on 8lbs, also, and I have not slowed down shooting it over the last several years...but, that is only because I have been getting it online...if I had waited for my local shops to get it, I would have been out over 2yrs, ago.

I have been thinking that it would be in stock, locally, for the last 6mos...maybe it is coming.
