Beautiful! Slug the barrel & size accordingly. The knowledge is fixing to hit you from the great gurus. Best, Thomas.
I used an Ohaus 220 gr, similar to Lyman 311284, for some good shooting in an 09 Argentine rifle. Can't recall the diameter.
20 grs IMR 4198 groups ran less than 2.5 MOA with issue sights from the bench. Got the load from an older article on the 7.65 Mauser.
I think the load you mention is a good place to work, check the manuals for more info.
I've shot a lot of 7.65 x54 or 53.....mostly in Argentine M91 and M1909s but there's been a couple Peruvian and Belgians along the way. While I have some Norma cases I mostly form the cases fromm8x57 and 30-06 cases. I've used the following cast bullets with excellent results in them;
TL31-90-SWC w/Bullseye
313631 w/Bullseye and Unique
311413 w/ Unique and 2400
311466 w/Unique, 2400, 4227 and 4198
C312-185-1R w/5744 and 4895
314299 w/4895 and 4831
I have several excellent jacketed loads with .311 and .312 Sierra, Hornady and Speer bullets.
I have also pressure tested several commercial (Hornady and Norma) and milsurp 7.65 Argentine made cartridges and even FN made Belgian milsurp cartridges made for Peru. All run at 53 - 55,000 psi.

start with 300 savage loads, you'll do fine. slugging bore makes sense.
Kegcaissy,
Fwiw, the original military load was an about 175 grain bullet in front of a powder similar to IMR 4895 at about 2200FPS. = About 38 grains of 4895 will closely duplicate the original arsenal load.
I suspect that duplicating that load with a properly-sized GCCB will do well for any North American big game with the possible exception of the bigger bears out to 150-200M.
just my OPINION, tex

Lucky you!
My favorite cast bullet rifle is a DWM 1891 Argentine in 7.65 X 53 (or 54) Mauser. It shoots the Lyman 314299 (sized to .313 at 208 grains) better than most rifles shoot jacketed bullets when that design is loaded over SR 4759 powder.
For squib loads, any of the 32/20 cast bullet designs over Bullseye powder work a treat.
Keep your powder dry,

When I formed the cases I set the shoulder so it was a slight crush fit and trimmed the necks to the max length of the chamber neck. Thus an "OAL" may not be of use to you.
I seated the 90 gr SWCs (Lightly TL'd, dried, then sized .314 in a Lee push thru, then lightly TL'd again) so the first 2 lube grooves were outside the case mouth.
The 311413 was seated so the case mouth just covered the middle lube groove (I did not lube the front groove).
I used cases with the flash holes drilled with both these bullets. The 90 gr SWC was loaded over 3.2 gr Bullseye for right at 900 fps. The 311413 was loaded over 11 gr Unique for right at 1450 fps. No wad or filler in either.

Remember, size your cast boolits to slip fit into the mouth of a FIRED case before it's sized. Accuracy comes from fitting the rifle's THROAT.

Kegcaissy,
I don't have any rifles for "punching paper", except for sighting in. =====> Enjoy your NICE/historic Peruvian rifle.
yours, tex
I slugged the barrel in my Peruvian a little over 2 years ago and it measured .3117 across the grooves. so I am planning on sizing .313. Hope this works out. Good luck with your rifle; they are too pretty not to shoot!........................
313 is a good size.
the 314299 with it's 304 nose and sized to 313 is a good fit and shoots well on top of 2400 or 4895.
ignore the three inch long throat.
I have a mold that is basically 220+grs and loverign shaped designed for these throats and seating it with the gas check in the case mouth doesn't even touch one of my rifles barrels.
it will however shoot the 299 as well as it shoots copper wrapped lead just slower.
I formed mine out of 06 brass and load 311299 to about 1600fps. it shoots great and kills deer. I was using a 91 mauser, I also have a 09 argentine and a Peruvian. I also have a Peruvian that was converted to 06.
