300 blackout fouling question

Hey guys:
please forgive my ignorance as I am new to forums and have never asked a question on one before. I have been reloading now for the better part of 15 years but my experience has been primarily in metallics. I have been casting now for a little over 2 years and just recently started to cast for my 300 blackout. I am using primarily wheel weight lead and water quenching the bullets for hardness. I am using the Lee 312-155 mold and sizing them down to .309 using a lee sizer die. I am then lubing them with Lee liquid alox and gas checking them with a copper check. I am fairly confident (emphasis on fairly) that the bullets are working decent as I'm keeping a 4" group at 150 yards. However the issue I am having is I can only get about 1-3 30 round magazines out before the bolt is so gummed up it seizes forward due to either lead or carbon powder in the BCG and star chamber.
I am using Lit'l gun powder at 15 grains. Again if this were metallics I wouldn't be having the issue as I have been able to fire well over a 1000 rounds of FMJ's with the same powder through the same gun with no issue.
So I guess my question is am I doing something wrong? Or has anyone else had the same issue? Is there a fix to this or am I just kind of stuck cleaning a BCG and chamber after every mag?

Any help would be greatly apreciated thank you in advance for any advise or imput.

Personally, I would size them to .310 or .311 if it will chamber, and use a different lube. I use the same boolit with 296 powder and BAC lube without the issues you are having. I suspect that it is due to the lube you are using, but not sure. Lil Gun is a hot burning powder also, might try 296 or H110 and see what happens.

I use this bullet and Imr4227 and W296 with good results. Lube is White label CR.
UI size it to .309 also. Over 1200 rounds so far.

Welcome Jeppe,
Sounds like too much lube. Tumble lubing puts it all over the boolit. Try thinning the lube and/or dipping just the base into the lube up to the crimp groove .
I don't tumble lube so I'm not much help on a proper formula to thin the LLA. Someone will be along shortly .
There's always a fix for any problem and you will get 15 different ways to fix it. My fix was a Lyman 450 lube sizer. But there are several that will get it solved.

I'm using a 150 plain base by NOE and powder coating. Sized to .310. H110, RX7 and Lilgun in a multitude of test loads. I finally cleaned the gun because it was getting dirty. I've shot in excess of 500 rounds without a hiccup except for a few rounds that I forgot to crimp. I agree with the others. Its most likely a lube issue.

Known problem with l'lgun. LLA & grease lubes will require more bcc cleaning. Probably powder and lube residue.

I had the same issues before I switched from the Alox to PC. Now I do not.

Alox has a low flash point and Lil'Gun has a lot of fire. The powder is also nasty on the throats.

I have a bunch loaded up already and want to use them up any suggestions on what would clean the BCG the best? Just standard gun cleaner?

+1 on the powder being the problem. I cast that bullet and use W296 powder and 45/45/10 lube. No lead or excessive bolt fouling.

A can of carb cleaner and a can of brake clean go with me to range on AR days. Break weapon open on stand muzzle down and pull BCG and handle, spray clean both and set aside, red tube through ejection port into gas tube, couple seconds let sit and hit again or until your happy then inside extension. Follow with the brake clean to remove and push all the residual downhill. Then patch or snake or whatever your poison out muzzle, lube BCG and back in hole. Works well for me inside well also, just be careful of over spray or splash on glass. Boolits, wipe noses best you can with some form of solvent and clean more often till all consumed. Welcome to the madness!

Yep, I don't powder coat everything I cast but I do for my 300 blackout now.
Using 5744 or 680 powders myself.
