I've got this project.. I bought these 209 primer trip wire alarms (google it) for teaching my hunting dog to stop on 'gunfire'. Problem is they are only made to work correctly once... You can get a few firings out before the little anvil with the firing pin bends from the power of the 209 primer, this causes the pin to hit the primer too far off center for them to work. I can bend them back, but the more I do that they will prob break. I have .22 acorn blanks, but they are too small for the hole in the tripwire alarm, and too big to fit in a 209 primer.

So, I was wondering if anyone has tried to see if a #10 or #11 percussion cap would fit in a spent 209 primer body? I figure they are weaker and may not bend the firing pin assembly..

Thanks!
