RARE: ASP Ruger Speed Six .44 Special

These have been around for years...but, they have gotten kind of pricey. I wanted one badly for many years, that urge has long since past...but a neat gun, anyway. I would certainly choose it over the GP hog that we have available, now.

Very cool, didn't know such a thing existed. The Sixes are my favorite wheelguns of all time, no doubt about it. I have a 1988 Service Six .38 Special and love it.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

Final price depends on how many people decide they really want it. I wouldn't mind it at the current bid of 860, I mean the last few Security-sixes I have seen had asking price north of $500.

I agree...notice that I said that my desire for one had long since past.

Might explain that "Factory ammo only" stamp. Inability to load +p would significantly reduce the value of the 44 special for me. I wonder is a couple kabooms hastened the demise of the model.

Not sure how much you have shot and tested .44 special. But, a full wadcutter .44 special at 800fps (that is non-+p) is a very formidable self defense load. I will carry it without one whit of reservation and take it over any +p factory ammo.

Agreed, maybe it is just the thought of all that wonderful case capacity that could be filled with 2400 going to waste

I think I would take a GP 'hog' as you call it and have another 1k plus left for something else.
    Keep moving forward!
