Is the multiple coats part mandatory?

You don't need to stand handgun bullets on their end, to bake.

My pc method is easier and quicker than hi-tek...less steps. Tumble, dump and bake...one time.

But, if he is happy with what he is doing...that is what it is all about.

Some have shot pistol boolits with one coat, and it worked, but because the recommendation is to use very thin coats it's usual to apply a minimum of two. The more you apply the better the colour will look, but it doesn't make them shoot any better than two coats.

I have been testing some .45 auto bullets with 1 coat of Hi-tek using 6-2-92 alloy and so far it is working fine, they just won't win the beautiful contest.
