    HM2 mould.

Hot damn, I know a deal when I see one. That's why when I saw it in S&S I jumped on it as quick as I could.

That's a quality mould. As new and unused. I'll have to remedy that tomorrow morning. I have an Enfield no. 1 mk III that my wife got me for my 50th b'day that I haven't shot cast through yet. It's got an extremely fat bore - so this might do the trick.

I have the same 312-160-5 mold which I use in my M1 Garand. For your .303 I expect you will need a larger diameter bullet of .314-.315, but HM2 did make a short run of the same profile in that diameter, don't know if those blocks are marked differently.

I have one of his 22 molds and it rains bullets. Normally itty bitty bullet molds are hard to keep up to temp. Not the case w/ that one.

It's marked .316. - Special order(?). I'm gonna cast a few with it tomorrow morning.

That is a great mold. There were even a few made and marked .325 and I have one of those as well. I love my hm2 molds, you got a great one there.

OK - I cast with it this morning. Had a hell of a time getting it clean. Hot water and Dawn with a toothbrush. Mineral spirits. Cleaned it 3 times. It finally settled down and started throwing 6 good boolits. Wound up with about 300. They were dropping from the mould at .317-.3175 (perfect). I weighed a handful and they were all within .5 gr. of each other. Waiting for a .316 die for my Lyman 450. Can't wait to put a few of these through the no. 1 mk III.

I have read that a few heat/cool cycles does something to a mould that makes it cast better. I spent a lot of time with it this morning, as every time I cleaned it I had to let it cool completely so I could clean it. After the 3rd cleaning it immediately started to cooperate. I had to cut grass, so I cut it short and ended up with about 300 - which should give me enough to experiment with...
