Steven Arms High Power Model 425 .32 Remington

I just purchased the rifle mentioned in the title and I was wondering if anyone has any info on it? I understand it is quite rare. I read somewhere that about only 1000 were manufactured. I also posted in the Vintage ammo thread about the rifle's caliber. Any info anyone is willing to share is more than appreciated! Thanks

    Here's a video of the rifle.:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrV6Whoqfug

I've heard of these. Looks a lot like a Marlin. If you can get brass, the .32 Remington should load like anything else. I know from experience the .32 Winchester Special is a good one, no reason the .32 Remington wouldn't be.

Very nice looking rifle -- glad you rescued it. I'll bet that hasn't been shot very much.

They are very uncommon. I looked for one in .25 Remington for years but only saw a couple, and way out of my price range. A friend had one in .35 Remington that shot very well.

It’s actually more like a mixture of Marlin and Savage 99 inside. Very interesting design.

It is my understanding that the internal parts had the same indifferent surface hardening that other Stevens arms had, and that therefore the 425 didn’t hold up to hard use the way the Savages, Marlins and Winchester’s did. My friend’s rifle worked fine but he didn’t shoot it often, so I would advise you to use it gently.

Huntington’s used to have .30 Remington brass available. It should neck up to .32 Rem with a pass through the sizing die.
