    1915 Stevens Favorite.

Mods if this is not the right place for this then please move it.

A very good friend and gunsmith gave me a 1915 Stevens Favorite tonight. Externally it is in excelent shape. Most of the blue is still there, the stock is very good, and the receiver still has some of the case hardening color. I had to do some work on the hammer and trigger and sear but have that fixed. The extractor assembly is missing but I found one online for $38 shipped and already ordered it. Good project gun and a rifle to keep until I leave this world. I will prize this gift.

I had one that my Grandpaw gave my Dad in 1930 that was stolen in a gunsmith's break in. I love that gun and I look at the serial number of any one I see at a gun show.

This one is so old it has no SN that I can find. Can't wait for the ejector to get here. Inside of the barrel looks almost new.

I have a couple of 1915s and three 1894s that are a continuing source of enjoyment. Two have been converted to center fire and one is still in .22LR.

It's funny you need an ejector, because that is why I had mine at the gunsmith where it was stolen. I kick myself every time I think of it because I put off picking it up for a few days and in that time the shop was burglarized. The ejectors were their weak link.

How long ago was it stolen?

It was stolen back in the 1980s in Southern Ohio.

I made up a new barrel for a 1915 Favorite a while back in trade for a #4 roller.
