I like mine. Keep in mind it is true 00 buck, can be tricky to stack 3 per layer with it inside of a wad. Most of my 00 buckshot loads use a gas seal and teflon wrapper. My favorite is a 3x5 (15 00) in a 2 3/4" shell.

I'm going to use the WAA12R wads (12 pellets/ 1 1/2 oz), Fed 209A primers with 34 grains of blue dot which should get me around 1350fps

After looking around it seems that only Lee and Sharp Shooter are the only makers of bk molds.

It is my understanding that Sharp Shooter isn't making any molds at this time so Lee is my only choice.

Which gas seal, powder/charge, primers, etc are you using ?

Are you using any buffer ?

I've loaded my fair share of hevi-shot, HW13, lead shot, etc However, this my first time trying to cast (alloy = COWW) and load bk so any input or lessons learned is greatly appreciated.

I do have # 1 bk and 000 on hand that was given to me.

This will shed some light on the advantages of a .310" 6 cavity mold - from both a casting and loading standpoint.

If you have the 12r wads and plan on OO, look at the 8 pellet loads on page 35 on this link.....You will get more pellets on target than the 12 pellet load you are considering. I tested both extensively and the AA 2 3/4" hulls with 32 grs 800x @ almost 1600 fps is a winner. I use 30 gr and the recommended amount of buffer.

I don't have that wad on hand. Got the information out of the Lyman ,5th Edition, Shotshell reloading manual.

The reloading components I currently have on hand (can pick up anything that others have had success with):

Wads (I reload lots of steel shot and tugsten):

    Sam1 12 gauge in 2 3/4" & 3"
    TPS 12 Gauge 2 3/4" & 3"

    Powders:
    Steel
    Blue Dot
    Unique
    PB
    LIL'GUN
    Longshot

    Primers:

    Win 209
    Fed 209A

    Buffer:

    BP 47
3MM plastic beads (bean bag filler)

    Other:

    Cork/felt 1/8", 1/4" in 12, 16 and 20 gauge.
Overshot card in 12, 16 and 20 gauge
    Mica Wad Slick
Mylar thick and thin shot wrap

    Hulls:

2 3/4" - AA Win and Fed Gold Medal
3"- Win Polyformed w/ Plastic basewad and Fed one piece plastic

I greatly appreciate the help/feedback everyone!

Let us know how the load works. The Waa12R are getting hard to find, if you find any let me know, I maybe interested in getting some.

I use and recommend Down Range wads. Friends don't let friends use Claybuster wads.

What's the best method for separating the buckshot ? Side cutters pinch more than cut off flush.

Maybe use hotter mold. Don't let mold cold down as mush or adjust temperature and see if it gets easier or looks better.
