    Rossi .44 Magnum o.a.l.?

I have buddy who has a Rossi. 44 Magnum and I need to load some shells for him. Will these rifles feed cartridges whose o.a.l. is over the SAAMI specified 1.610" such as when loaded with a 429421?

    Thanks

The biggest waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who doesn't care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions.

Mine easily chambers a 240gr RN @ 1.649 and the NOE 432-255 @ 1.666, both of which are in their respective crimp groove.

My Rossi 92 .44 mag, feeds the Lyman 429215 fine between 1.645" and 1.655". However, lever rifles can be real finicky when it comes to OAL and feeding. I suggest you let your buddy loan you his Mdl 92 so you can make sure the ammo will function properly.
As an aside, I have found that all rifles I've had in .44 mag feed best with boolits that do not have the semi-wadcutter shoulder to hang up. Designs like the Lee 200g RNFP or the Lyman 429667, or 429640, or MP-433-300 work extremely well in feeding.
It's all chicken, even the beak!
