    NOE 311679--can't wait!

One of my absolute favorite cast bullets for 300 blackout in a silenced, subsonic AR is the Lyman 311679, also called the MXL bullet. NOE has just produced a version and I have a 5 cavity on the way. I can't wait to start dropping big piles of them to feed my hungry AR.

The 5-6 cavity pistol bullet molds have really spoiled me for guns (like the AR) that I shoot in large volumes. I'm really looking forward to dropping more than two at a time.

That is pretty sweet looking! Bet that would be good in .308 and '06 too!

Good evening, that is one SWEET looking mold. I will have to give NOE molds a try! I agree with Elkins45, 5-6 cavity pistol molds spoil a guy when you cast 2 cavity rifle molds. This afternoon I cast 1000 boolits from a 4 cavity and 200 boolits from a 2 cavity. I was wishing for a 6 cavity in both Show us some results when you get a "pile" cast up!

Have you tried plain base in your 300 Blackout?

Yes, but I have a different mold (311365) for that.

I made about 10 pounds of them yesterday. My PID was set a 750° and I cast about half this first batch too hot. I turned it down to 720° and they stopped dropping frosty.

Be careful , those bad boy's are highly addictive. I bought one NOE for Christmas of 2015 just to experience one good mould before I kicked the bucket and see what all the hoopla was about, I have used Lyman, RCBS and Lee for 50 years....just how much better could they be ! Right ?
By Christmas 2016 I had four more NOE's.....I don't know what happens, I see something , there's a sale on , a long discontinued mould brought back, my eyes glaze over and I don't even remember placing the order...It's an addiction, you get possessed and don't have any control..... Yes they are that good and a work of art to boot, I must say, I'm ruined. Now I have properly warned you.... So, time's a wasting , place that order !
