Lot of guys think they need a big long blade for hunting, i own a few myself as i have collected Buck Knives over the years, but they are stil brand new never used. My 'Go to' hunting knife is a Buck 112 folder, in all reality the front 2" of a blade is what gets 99% of the use, I have a very similar knife to Ron's little Caper, mine is a Caper as well made by Outdoor Edge, its a great little knife but definitely not the Quality of Ron's. Ron does AMAZING work on these knives! I had my hands on a couple of them on our whitetail hunt.

That's much how I make the pins, fill tube with colored epoxy, then push filler pins from top which forces excess epoxy out and doesn't introduce much in the way of air bubbles. I only work with pins in the inch or so length, not the long 3 and 6" pins.
