I believe that a replacement wax substitute was discovered for the liquid wax , and the paste wax is still available from Johnson .

Here guys. I'm going to tease you a little. I had to go to town this morning so I swung past the store and picked up 6 cans incase I spill the open can I got before the turn of the Century to water prove my PP bullets for hunting. I got 6 cans for $15.00 and he gave me the leaky can to get rid of it. Cans are dented but that's all.
I will never use my old can up but the Wife likes it for her wood dining room table and cabinets.

I bought a can in the early 90s to use on the limbs of my recurve. When I started paper patching about 8 years ago, I started using it to lube my pp bullets.
I still have half a tin. It is a paste wax though.

So what the *** is in this stuff, some sort of comet dust or something. Aren't there any other liquid floor waxes out there that can be substituted? We used to use this diamond coat sealer on tile floors in the 80's. It was very similar to what is sold now as water based varnish. So why not use some water based varnish. Or some new liquid plastic coating.

Lundmark brand wax will work. But you have to mix in mineral spirits. The way the Johnson's worked was add Alox to it and lube away.

    Okay , I will admit it ..... I am a "hoarder" ....
as all can see in a previous thread here .
when word first came out , I could not leave the cans on the shelves at the hardware stores. ...(sigh !)
It is much easier to fool people ,
than to convince them they have been fooled !

[QUOTE=myg30;3947300] Plastic bottle I stored it in has sucked in and got real hard.QUOTE]
    Mike,
Mine does that too. I dropped a bad cast boolet in it and now when needed add 2 oz or so if odorless mineral spirits and give it good shake and it is good to go.

I have 1 full can and 1 partial.

HA HA HA!!! I still have some left from the first batch I made up for that demo post that's still a Sticky.

I figure my great-great-great-grandchildren will be using it to lube boolits for use at the shooting range on Jupiter when it gets colonized. It'll just take a little longer to get the lube warmed up, you know, given the climate on that big planet.

Thanks for the input. I have some of that Naphtha stuff too. I'll give it a go next time. I get all of those volatile chemicals mixed together and will have to do my coating outside.
