    Sorry, made a mistake.

About pots that I can't find again. I said PDF instead of PID to control heat.
Key board is worn away and I can't read letters. Spell check does not recognize most things.
How can I make the letters visible without buying a new one?

I guess. Why they didn't engrave letters in the keys baffles me. Can't expect much for $10. Made in China of course. Need to see if I have model paint.

Get a new keyboard and I bet it will happen again, except you won't have that excuse to use.

Buy an IBM "Preferred" keyboard, best ever made, last for years and years and years and the letters don't wear off. Can get them on fleabay for $10 so there's no excuse to buy Asian.

    IBM model KB-9910

When they get wonky, you can open up the back and run them through the dishwasher with soap on the hot water cycle, take them out and blow dry, just don't let them go through the machine's drying cycle.
Got a .22 .30 .32 .357 .38 .40 .41 .44 .45 .480 or .500 S&W cylinder that needs throats honed? 9mm, 10mm/40S&W, 45 ACP pistol barrel that won't "plunk" your handloads? 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh cylinder that needs the "step" reamed to 6° 30min chamfer? Any sort of paint will wear off quickly. A good keyboard has the the characters in the plastic of the key, but something you have to pay for. I bought a keyboard recently it was less than $10.

    This would be my approach.
Lighted keyboards can be nice, especially on laptops.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Keyboards aren't that expensive. Good keyboards run about $25-$30.

My Goffin's loves to tear up keyboards I pick them up at thrift stores for him. He'll easily go through a couple a week.

Find an old non-working keyboard and swap key caps.

PID, all the PDF files I put in my home made pot just kept burning up, didn't do a thing to control temp, was a pretty decent flux though! PID makes a lot more sense, thank you for the correction! Boy do I feel silly!

My keys seem to be in different places each time I type too.

I just bought a new computer and the wireless key board is slightly smaller than the old one I had used for the last 8-10 years. Its giving me fits with mistyped letters also. May take some time to get used to

You can use an engraver to mark the keys or a soldering iron to burn the letter into the key. Have fun.

So I'm gonna be the first one to tell you that you're not supposed to look at the keys when typing?
