    Lubing Swaged Boolits

I have 1500 105gr .357 SWCFB swaged boolits without lube.

They also have no lube grooves.

Can anybody recommend a suitable lube recipe for them.

Bear in mind Johnson Paste wax is not available here in OZ.

Do you have access to liquid floor waxes?

Yes I do. Is there anything special to look for?

This is the only thing other than Johnsons liquid wax. For low velocities it has been fine with two thin coats.

Are these boolits knurled? If so then LLA should work or pan lubing or as I do it hot tumble lubing by melting some lube in a cast iron frying pan then rolling a couple of dozen boolits around until they are warmed and coated..

I make smoothside boolits for .44 mag and .303 British using push out moulds like the old Ideal Cylindrical moulds so smooth boolits with no knurling and have used my home made lube "hot tumble lubed" with no leading problems at moderate for rifle loads of around 1600 FPS+.

you can knurl them between two files or 1 file and a board.
just roll the boolit under the file.
it doesn't have to be super fancy just knurled.
this holds a lot more surface lube.

you just need quick and simple.
a little lanolin and some motor mica or some graphite dusted on after would make a passable lube with the knurled surface.
so would some chapstick or bag balm, surf wax, and some under arm deodorant sticks [ones with hydrolyzed castor oil]
for the slick sides I'd be more inclined to powder coat or Hi-Tek coat them.
you just need a whiff of lube on the surface, but you need some.
tre-wax can be used if you cook off the solvents first, as can several other furniture paste waxes.

if you were closer we could add a lube groove or knurl them or coat them in a day.

Great idea I will give it a try with a few.
