I use N110 Vithavuori powder in my .44 Mags. I have a can of Lil' Gun here, but it's not better for my applications, I think. And it is more expensive.
Hands down, the N110 is much cheaper here in germany than any of your american powders.
I use 20gn and a Lyman 429421 in my Revolver and also 20gn and a 265gn Saeco RNFPGC for my Winchester 1894 SRC.

2400 in my 44Mag loads (240grn), had LOTS! of unburnt powder in the cylinder and barrel with H110!?, the 300grn .429" bullets on my bench go in the 444 Marlin cases.

I love N110 vs H110/296 for my heavy boolits. N340 for light boolits in my rifles. Clean burning.

I use 2400 in both the 44 Mag and my 45-70 (540gr) loads so between my wife and I, we have around 24lbs of it.

So who has the most??? LOL

2400 is my favorite in 4 to 6 inch revolvers. I had an extreme spread of 10 fps at 1400 fps across 12 shots with one batch. (So surprised with the first 6 I shot a second) There is lot to lot variation but the combustion gets very stable at magnum pressures in 4-6 inch revolvers and the pressure curve is kind to lead.

296/110 was my first magnum powder but I think more suited to longer barrels.

300MP I was into compressed loads in a 4" Redhawk before I got any kind of stable combustion.

Due to a lack of 2400 I was switching to AA#9 when the fire hit. I grabbed the last of the 2400 and the #9 experiment went up in smoke. LOL 300MP too. The SR4759 was a great compressed load and will be missed as it's out of production.

A case full of Alliant RL7, compressed 1/8" by the seated bullet, outshoots EVERYTHING else in my 1894S Microgroove Marlin.

For ACCURACY as the poll asks, the best load I have is with Trail Boss, it's slow but at 50 yards 5 shots tear one big ragged hole. This is out of a Super BH Hunter with a scope off of sand bags.

To shoot out to 100-150 yards IMR4227 gives me the best accuracy. I have shot a few groups of 2" but most are around 5". At 50 yards the 4227 only gets about 3"

Me personally don't waste powder or bullets downloading magnum calibers so I typically stick with H110/W296 for the best consistency. The key to the ball magnum powders is keep the case fill capacity to no less than 90%. Ball powders don't like excessive air space in the case. I load 357 mag and 460 s&w mag , 16.5 gr and 51 gr respectively.

51 grains of 296/H110 . I cant even imagine hang in onto a revolver with that much in it. Most I've ever touched off was 40 gr in a 4" 500 Smith pushing a 400 gr bullet. Found out that was more than I want to handle.
I have had good accuracy with H110/296. In the 480 Ruger with 400 gr bullets and in the 454 with 335 and 360 gr bullets. I did have good accuracy in some 44 mags with 300 gr jacketed bullets.

200 gr Hornady FTX , 51 gr of H110, 2285 fps from my 12" XVR ! Yup, she's a real handfull but as a respectfull and disciplined big bore shooter I have learned to efficiently handle the recoil. I ring 14" gongs at 200 meters at my gun club and I always get an applause from the crowd. The muzzle flash and boom is INSANE ! Double hearing protection mandatory shooting indoors !

I have reloaded with W296 in 44 mag for many years but am open to change.
With cast bullets I have had much better accuracy with reduced loads and will look into 2400 for that reason.
W296 does not get the accuracy I want at reduced loads so I will try A 2400.

I haven't seen 2400 on the shelf around here for years. Some of my best paper targets was printed with unique. 2400 is for heaver loads. Comparing light loads with heavy loads for accuracy is like comparing apples to oranges. They are both fun to to eat or shoot.

If I want to shoot full house 44 mag loads it 296 or nothing!!

4227 doesn't generate the same power level and 2400 is to filthy to use past 6 rounds, the one and only place I disagree with Elmer Kieth!

Elmer doted on this stuff and honestly I think it's the only reason it's still in production as everybody seems to buy that as their first 44 mag powder.

How many of you using 2400 have shaken piles of unburned 2400 out of your gun between loadings at the range? It was over for me with 2400 in the one and only pound I've ever bought of the stuff and it ws a new container to boot lest someone think I got a bad can!

I've run into a bunch of shooters at the range experiencing the same issue with unburned powder in 2400 loads, a loan of 6 250 Keiths on 296 changed their minds and fast!

for mid range loads, in the 1000 FPS range Unique always gets the nod and is an excellent powder for this area of 44 mag velocity!

I would have voted H110/296 however I took to Ramshot Enforcer/AA4100 for upper end magnum revolver work.

I really like 2400 for full power loads and it is as accurate as any powder I've ever used. However, some years ago I found AA#9 on sale for under a hundred dollars and bought 3- 8 pound kegs.
It shoots pretty good and have been using it as a matter-of-course while renewing my supply of 2400.

    I just checked my records.
The last time I loaded full-house for the .44 Magnum was 1999... I used 23.0 grains H110 under a really hard-cast (Linotype) SWC weighing a bit over 240 grains, lit by a CCI #350 Magnum primer. However, my "every day" load uses the same boolit cast from WW metal, weighing closer to 250 grains, over 17.0 grains of 2400 and a Federal 155 Magnum primer.

I have 2 .44 Magnums, a 7½ inch SBH and a 5 inch M29. The chronograph shows better ballistic uniformity using the Federal Magnum primer in the M29, it doesn't matter which primer in the SBH... so I just use the mag primer and use the same load in both for simplicity and convenience.

By-the-way... I've been considering Ramshot Enforcer/Accurate 3100 as a replacement when I run out of 2400 because I can't seem to find it on the shelf anywhere.
Has anyone been using them?? Results??
