Lee 6 cavity. Started with the 208 gr WC in 44 and quickly added the .358 150gr swc with the huge meplat. Still have both and still think Lee made a mistake discontinuing both.

Lyman 457125, 311284 (went back to lyman still had the nose too small) 311291 and 31401 nose casts at .299 rcbs 45 rifle 300 and 400 cast too small and stick in the mold. Only molds I have that cast great bullets are the Lyman 314299 and Saeco RG-4 mold. Next mold will be from Accurate molds. Frank

Lee. I just bought my first custom mold from Accurate, man is it a pleasure to use but after reading here and with a bit of work,my Lee's still work fine. I will likely buy more custom moulds but continue to purcase Lee molds if avalible for my need.

I have molds made by Lee and RCBS. Both have their pros and cons. Don't abuse any and keep them clean and they will last a long time.

Lee 148 gr .38 cal wadcutter. Had to try it out when I got home from work and found it at the door. Pumped up the Coleman 1 burner backpack stove, lit it and pumped it up again in a minute per normal procedure. When I let go of the pump gasoline spewed out onto my jacket and hand, and before I could utter a swear I burst into flames. Waved my arm a couple of times and heard loud whoosing sounds from the flames, and stopped panicking and stuffed the flames under my other arm and it went out.

Blisters started rising on my hand and I ran into the house in pain and found an oxycodone and 20 minutes later fired up the stove again very carefully, with a glove on my hand, and managed to cast just a few boolits - my first ever. I had a yard sale soon after and sold that stove for a couple of bucks with instructions to the buyer not to trust it!

Just rereading this thread reminds me....... The place I bought my first molds and BP rifle is, and has been, leveled and made into part of the River Walk here. What is ironic is that it was one mile and two blocks from where I currently live.

1st mould was a 5mm 2 cav. Lee mould for the 5 mm Craig I was going to get. Did find a 591 Remington but haven’t converted it or shot it. 1st used was a Lee .32 RB.

The first metal mold I had was a brass home made effort for a 32/20.Next was a Winchester 32 mold.I never had a Lee until quite recently, cause I reckoned I had enough molds. The first Lee I saw had ridges and punch marks to align, but they sure have improved.Lyman have gone backward.

    Accurate Bullet Molds 43-220C
I got this as my introduction to bullet casting. After not finding anyone that made a bullet that met my needs I decided to make it myself. I promised myself that I would only cast for this one rifle ( 1873 UbertiChester). A few years and six more molds later...........

My first mold in the early 80's, was the Lyman 429348 180gr. WC. Still cast with it along with about 50 others from .22 to 45-70..
