    Got a new Walker

It's a Whitneyville Walker, made by Palmetto. I just found it for sale this week and got it in the mail yesterday. It has been a safe queen ever since the guy got it from Dixie and so it's still unfired. She's a beauty!!! So currently, I own an Uberti, an ASM and a Palmetto. I think those are the only three that made Walkers.

Just read on another site that Palmetto's are rare. Congratulations on yours!

nice to get something that you really really want and find it in such good condition. if your going to shoot it, check the forcing cone and see if it is ok. if not it is a simple cheap fix to make it into a tackdriver.

    Got a new Walker

LOL, I got a notification that someone posted "got a new Walker" and all I could think of was a Walker Coon Hound Pup! LOL

Nice pistol. Not as pretty and a hound pup, but close.

That's funny! I thought walker, like a four wheeled cane. Then Walker hound (Treeing Walker makes a noisy pet!) Then Tennessee Walker horses. (Had those too.) I'd love to have that Walker in the picture. Or a Dragoon.

this is way off the nice original post. the most beautiful stallion ever ever saw was a blood red bay tennesee walker at a state fair in wash state in the middle 60/s. i have never seen a horse like that before or since. it sticks in my mind like a photograph done in stone. it had perfect shoulders and wasnt over sized. didnt have a arab or mustang or barb head but the head was perfect. long mane and tail. much like the tennesee walkers randolph scott road in his western movies, only it was a blood red bay. thanks for original post and thanks for bringing back a nice memory.

I will check the forcing cone. What would I be looking for? I have an Uberti Walker that I shoot, so this one is really going to be the backup safe queen, but I do want it useable if it should be called into service and something breaks on the Uberti.

A guy I know has a Colt Black Powder Shop Walker. I did a little research for him this week because he is considering selling it. Maybe you should add one of those to your collection.

    Beagle,
Youshould look down the barrel to check chamber to barrel alignment. A crescent of light on one side might suggest the chambers are not perfectly lined up. A sharp edged flat ended rod passed down the bore will also hang up on the edge of a chamber. I use a rod of aluminum, plastic, or fiberglass so I don't scratch anything.

I have an endoscope that goes to the USB on the computer. I can run a lighted camera right down to the nipple threads.
