Anyone using the new IMR colored (red, blue, green) powders?

Saw these new powders on the shelf at the local cabelas and was curious as I had never seen or read anything about them before. Did a few google searches and gleaned some information about them. I'm just wondering if anyone has any hands on experience with them and what their results and overall impression was with them as it pertains to us cast boolit shooters? Looking for handgun loads specifically. Thanks

They are brand new and most haven't been able to buy them yet. They aren't on the shelves here.

I was at the sprtsmans yesterday and didn't see any.
I made them aware of their existence about a month ago but that means nothing.

Midsouth has them in stock. Get a few buddies to go in an order to split up the shipping and hazmat fees. I buy my powder from Midsouth and Powder Valley. There's nothing to buy here local so I mail order everything.

I may have to pick some up and test it out.

I've seen a few of the newer IMR powders at the Black Sheep in C'DA Idaho. They are a LOT more expensive than the powders we are used to. I see no need to increase my cost. FWIW, I was there last Thursday, and they had all the Alliant powders with the one exception of 2400.

Just a guess, but are these the same as Red Dot, Blue Dot, Green Dot? Unique = Unequal? Sounds eerily similar...

Older reloaders will remember the Hercules Reloader 7, 11,& 21 in the square cans with the pop to open lids. They were double base and had red and green kernels mixed in with the gray ones. It was good powder. Maybe this new stuff will go with those smelly but pretty pc'd bullets. Best, Thomas.

If I can find the Alliant powders I'll be darned if I will pay more for a copy. IMR tends to charge for it products. As in too much.

These powders are in stock at my local Cabela's at normal prices. Looking at the descriptions on the IMR website, the company seems to be implying that these can be substituted for their Alliant namesakes. Alliant copied Hodgdon a few years ago with Clay Dot and I think another similar sounding powder. IMR Blue is intriguing to me, as Blue Dot has been extinct here for a long time. Love that stuff in .357 carbine loads and have long been plotting how to use it in .45-70.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

I haven't seen them in the wild or tried them. I'm all for more choices. It sounds like the shotshell data is pretty interchangeable with the "dot" counterpart, but a different set of load data would be called for with handgun. There is also one called "Target" IIRC.

Midsouth shows them to be priced about six dollars a pound less than the normal offerings, $18.99/lb. I have no experience with them but may have to try some.

I get a kick out of how they tried to play on the competition's names.... "Unequal" being "Unique", etc.

I bought some "Target" but haven't worked with it yet. The claim was a burning rate between BE and tightgroup. It is claimed to be cleaner and easier to meter than BE. For a while it was on sale at very good prices in 8#.....I need top get with it and try it out. I am interested in "unequal" as unique has been useful to me for many years.

I've got a bunch of .45 loaded up with the Target. Was planning on going to the range today, but the rain last night turned it into a muddy mess. Maybe later this week.
