You know..... it seems like I was in that Group Buy..... I'll have to go look! Those look good. I hope I got that one somewhere here!
KE4GWE - - - - - - Colt 1860, it just feels right.
I have that one. Always order the penta pins w/ his molds if he offers them. I have a lot of them but the hollow point pins aren't installed in the blocks in any of them. The novelty wore off quickly.
What is your Pb blend...how fast do you shoot them...have you tested them & what method did you use?
Got any pictures of your test rounds?
I really like to see post on HP's regardless of mold mfgr. . . . these cast look great too.

L-SWC's @ 200g. feed my 1911 & .45 SAA Colts, I have other molds but these casts are weight economical and easy on the Pb stash so they have become my old standbys.
Remember to post some pictures of how the HP's you did test out, it's easy to dial that Pb blend in.

An old Lyman interpretation of the Keith SWC-HP...ain't that scary to look at but...like I said earlier, it's easy to tune that Pb blend.

Don USSR, I got the same mold as you for the 45 AR and it feeds in all of my 45 autos and mushrooms flat and uniformly. Love it. I even cast the solid nose for my 45's. It even expands well out of my Bond Arms 2 1/2" derringer in 45 acp. What a monster it is for anything I will be shooting it at.
This country has gone to hell but now there is hope for us.
hicard,
Yeah, kind of hard not to like a bullet that works well in both revolvers and bottom feeders.

I've shot countless 1000's of these bullets in my 45acp's. Their my go-to plinking bullet.
I use a 50/50 alloy (around 8bhn) of range scrap/pure lead. Anything over 800fps and these things flatten out.

While I never tried to find an extremely accurate load with these bullets it's hard not to find a load that isn't good enough for steel or dueling trees, bowling pins & paper. I do try to keep the plinking loads in the 850fps/900fps range and the p+ loads in the 1050fps range.
Yeah, that was my first impression. Mihec still has a couple left: https://mp-molds.com/e-shop/molds/hollow-points-molds/mp-454-423-hp-pb-2cav

That 200gr hex is my carry boolit - and have shot many hundreds of them, pushing a thousand, no, now over a thousand.

There is no 'right' that requires me to work for you or you to work for me!
No. You seat them in .45 ACP so that only a finger nail's thickness of the front band shows above the case mouth.
