    ...The Devil's in the Details>>>>>PC Coatings<<<<<

    * The following questions are about how we do the PC coating on our casts...methodologies and details of our processes and success.
These questions pertain to your current method...NOT what you have tried in the past.

Thank you for your effort and time to fill in this poll/questionnaire...I believe there is a mountain of information we can glean from analyzing everyone's answers...at least I hope so.

***If a question doesn't apply to your experience or methods...don't answer it...leave it blank.***

    ACRONYMS a PROBLEM ? . . . try this . . . This may help...still some are missing though...

I was wondering how the percentages would reflect a meaningful number...now I (think?) I see.

Of all the pollers (those responded) each line reflects what percentage does a particular item the same way verses the total number polled. I think that makes sense...right?

If so this oughta be pretty revealing after a couple dozen replies.

My thinking is it will show those that have had success with PC, typically follow the same general guidelines. We may differ on a few points but over all the method is the same.

I don't know if it'll point the clear path to glory for everybody. I think I make shootable boolits, but there is a limited number of folks using the nut-tray and ESPC method.
Tumbling seems to be the clear choice for most, but I just can't get results every time, so I stick to the spray gun.

There's been so many conversations about how to do this business that the newb's get confused...I don't think they are aware that there so many options built into a simple little thing like PC'ing. There are several avenues to get there with lots of variety in between.

I kinda like the results already.

At least a newb can determine pretty easy what most tend to do for success...if they can just get some success they will figure it out as they go further...like the rest of us for the most part.

if nothing else the numbers will give a new guy more [pointed] questions to ask.

I can see some data points mirror much of the discussion already.
and it will be nice to see how things change in a year or two compared to what is showing up now.

Interesting thing is no mention of the spray method. I built a vacuum box and get perfect results without much effort or any mess. I've tried shake and bake and had pretty good results but at least for me the finish Isn't quite at the same quality as the spray method gives. On a average evening I can easly put the finish on 1200+ boolits.

Actually, I've found the results so far to be interesting. I see areas where I might try something a little different and see if my results are better/worse. Generally, I seem to be doing the same as the majority, but in a few areas, I don't. I may have to give those areas more consideration.

Oops sorry I didn't realize ESPC equaled electrostatic powder coat. I better get up to speed on my acronyms. Nice job on your comprehensive list.
