Lake Trout through the ice (Maine)

Was able to get to camp for the weekend was able to catch a nice Laker. I had few other flags but they mostly robbed the bait. A couple photos of my fishing buggy as well. I use the wheeler when there is lack of snow. This year we have had a fair amount of rain after most storms keeping the snow to a minimum

Yes, very nice. That white stuff in the background reminds me why I am in Texas.

Looks like the ones we got in the Rangely Lakes area. I had only heard that the lake we were going to camp on had lake trout. Had no idea of how big they would be. That was in the summer. I love ice fishing. I am envious of you.

It was actually a nice day out somewhere around 30 degrees with a slight breeze. We had been out on the ice chatting for a while with some of the camp neighbors when the photo was taken. Several of us have camp & cottages for when it gets cold out and we watch the tip-ups from inside. Just something to look foward to. It helps to shorten the winter.

Is there still any Safe Ice in York, Cumberland County? Might be Ice Out on Sebago Soon, would like to get out there this year for some Spring Salmon and Lake Trout. Could Donate the Lake Trout to Veterans Kitchens and help Vets feed their pet Dogs, Cats, Goats & Pigs. Cant wait to get the boat in Saltwater and get out for Haddock & Stripers.

Boy that is a nice fish. It would seem to be hard to find something better for dinner. Went ice fishing when living in New Mexico once and one of the guys forgot sunglasses and got snow blindness a couple days. My day today in Conroe Texas was spent killing fire ants and working in the garden. The squash, beans, and tomatoes are over a foot tall already, with 89 degrees F. high 72 last night. Perfect for the veggies. Half Dog inspired me to mention the garden.

nice size trout for eating, I don't ice fish much because the trolling motor makes to much noise pushing the boat across the ice.
