Mold for casting 185" cores - for swaging 224" bullets

Any interest in mold for casting 185” cores for swaging 224" bullets?

I had a chat with MiHec at MP Molds. He made few core molds before. He can do 8cav aluminuim, with sprue handle. Since mold doesn’t have pins etc wait should not be long. No mixing of different weights in same mold.
    Mold would be:
    - 8 cav aluminium
    - Core dia 185"
    - MP Mold style (thick) sprue cutter with handle
    - mold can use Lee or MP handles (not included).
    - aprox 80€ delivered, will be coverted to $$ when paid
    - 3 weight options:
    45grs (light),
    55grs (medium)
    65grs (heavy).

There,s a quality mold for sale on the bay for $85
Does he have a price for the molds? I,m thinking this might be the way to salvage my excess swage sprews.

He said 80€ delivered, will be converted to $$ on the day we pay via paypal...
...about core weight, we still have time to discuss but he will do 3 options max, I suggested 45,55,65grs.
For those of us who use rimfire jacket, 55grs is optimum. IMHO

Haven't weighed any 22 brass. 65 grain core would be good for 70+ grain bullet?
To much work, not enough time for guns.

Normal rimfire jacket is 9.7-10.2grs (RWS, Lapua, CCI) ...but I think you need longer jacket to make 70+, maybe from CCI Stinger or buy commercial jackets...

I found one more interesent for core mold, ...he needs plinking rounds so he will skip core swage step and will swage casted core straight into jacket, (45+10grs) then point forming and its done.

I think 185" core will still be ok?

So we have interest for 5 molds now, I know there are few people swaging, but for 80€ this is attractive price - and you get MP Mold

...I found 11cav but used mold on ebay for 145$..so..

I would be interested in a 55gr mold. a 8 cavity mold would be sweet. Right now I'm casting with a single cavity mold.

Blanks are ready. I visited MiHec just yesterday and saw his new 8cav design. They will be used for our core molds. Sweet.

Soon I will move this from discussion to active and leave it there for some short time. Click image for larger version.

I still think 55grs core is the most universal one, what do you think guys?

Can't speak for others but I'd like a 55gr mold. I swage a lot of 62gr bullets with 22lr cases. A 55gr core mold would be ideal!!! Simply cast the cores and run them thru a bleed die to make them 52/53gr.

    Sweet!!!
